DuraBlack™ is CO2 laser marked aluminum for durable, on-demand marking for harsh operating environments. DuraBlack is resistant to sunlight (UV-radiation), abrasion, high-temperatures, salt-spray and chemical exposure. Because of its ability to perform across a range of challenging environments, DuraBlack meets several government, industrial and military specifications including MIL-STD 130N, A-A-50271 (MIL-P-514D) and MIL-STD-15024F, Type L.
Suitable for interior or exterior applications, DuraBlack laser markable aluminum engraves a silvery-white color with a laser. The matte black finish creates highly readable laser engraving. DuraBlack laser markable aluminum can be attached to either curved or flat surfaces with adhesive, rivets or screws. It is imaged with a CO2 marking laser to produce a durable,
high-resolution image.

Laser engraving uses a laser to engrave or mark an object. Laser engraving metal has an appearance similar to printing onto the metal. This technique can be very technical and complex and usually uses a computer system to drive the movements of the laser head. Despite the complexity of laser engraving, very precise and clean engravings can be achieved at a high rate.
